About the Role

• Provide technical lead and support for electrical portions of work projects. • Determine optimal layout of collection systems considering constraints such as overhead/underground routes, roads, and junction box locations. • Review manufacturer data for electrical scope, including wiring requirements, grounding, power factor, lightning protection, and generator outputs. • Verify construction aligns with electrical engineering design drawings, conduct preparatory meetings, and ensure QA/QC. • Lead electrical engineering design and equipment procurement through submittals, transmittals, and RFIs. • Offer technical expertise to all parties and ensure subcontractors understand project scope during bidding and throughout the project. • Communicate with local utilities for grid interconnection and perform loss calculations. • Develop one‑line diagrams of collection systems and substations and create standard electrical construction details. • Maintain relationships with site visitors, run site work efficiently, suggest improvements, and build relationships across diverse backgrounds. • Lead by example, provide coaching, feedback, and manage performance.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • Minimum three years of experience in electrical construction management or design. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%. • Basic understanding of construction law, business practices, NEC code, and construction techniques. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project, and web applications. • Strong active‑listening, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans.

Benefits

The base salary range is $102,000 to $137,700, adjusted upward for certain office locations, and the position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan. Benefits for non‑craft, non‑union employees working 25+ hours per week include medical, vision, dental, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, employer‑paid life, AD&D, disability insurance, mental‑health resources, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and a gym membership discount.
