About the Role
The Machine Operator role at Rolls‑Royce involves operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) HELLER machining centers equipped with Siemens 840 D controllers. Work is performed according to detailed instructions, routings, control plans, production requirements, and engineering diagrams. Key duties include studying machining instructions and blueprints to determine specifications, setting up and adjusting both basic and advanced machine tools, selecting appropriate tools and materials, and performing precision machining operations. The operator monitors machine sounds for tool wear or vibration, makes fine‑tuned adjustments, measures finished workpieces with precision instruments, and ensures compliance with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) standards while maintaining a safe, clean work area. • Operate CNC HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840 D controllers per routing and control plans. • Set up, adjust, and fine‑tune tools and equipment; optimize programs for tool durability and collision avoidance. • Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and verify work‑piece dimensions. • Maintain machines under Total Productive Maintenance standards and troubleshoot machining issues. • Follow safety regulations, reduce non‑value‑added work, and support special projects across production.

What You Bring
Basic qualifications require at least two years of mechanical, maintenance, or machining education (or an Associate’s Degree) or three years of experience in a heavy‑duty machining environment, and the applicant must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred qualifications include intermediate knowledge of Siemens 840 D CNC controls, strong mathematical skills, ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) data, basic understanding of manufacturing processes and OSHA safety requirements, troubleshooting aptitude, and proficiency Economy in reading blueprints and schematics. Candidates should also possess strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and basic PC skills, and be willing to work any shift, overtime, and obtain necessary hoist or vehicle licenses. The position is based in a durable‑goods manufacturing environment with physical demands such as frequent standing, walking, handling tools, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
