What You Bring
The Student Technician program lasts up to 12 months, during which participants perform specific job tasks and demonstrate the potential to become entry-level Technicians after graduating from trade school. Participants learn Sunbelt’s business, culture, and safety-focused habits, shadow experienced team members, and apply hands-on skills to prepare for a post-graduation career. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited trade school program related to heavy equipment, diesel, power generation, or a similar fleet discipline, with at least nine months remaining in their studies. Completion of relevant coursework and prior technical or technician experience are preferred but not required. The role requires physical abilities such as bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds, as well as the capacity to drive, load and unload heavy equipment, and work in extreme weather, night, or weekend conditions. All duties must follow Sunbelt’s safety policies, and reasonable accommodations are available to comply with ADA regulations. • Perform specific job tasks for up to 12 months, demonstrating potential for an entry-level Technician role. • Learn Sunbelt Rentals’ business, culture, and safety-focused work habits. • Shadow experienced team members to acquire required knowledge and skills. • Be enrolled in an accredited trade school for heavy equipment, diesel, power generation, or related program with at least 9 months remaining. • Preferred: completion of relevant coursework and prior technical work experience. • Physical ability to bend, squat, lift 25+ lbs, drive, load/unload equipment, and work in extreme weather, nights, and weekends.
