About the Role

The Superintendent II is responsible for ensuring that all materials, equipment, and inspections align with the project schedule, and for reviewing construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability. Duties include coordinating specifications with design engineers, developing three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead schedules, creating site logistics plans, and managing Mortenson tools and equipment. The role also involves collaborating with partner superintendents, conducting on‑site orientations and meetings, supervising craft foremen and crews, and handling hiring, transfers, and terminations as needed. Leadership responsibilities include coaching and mentoring assistant superintendents and craft team members, ensuring proper task coding on timecards, tracking work progress and productivity, and delivering high‑level safety, quality, risk, and compliance management. What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering, or construction management, or possesses ten years of trade experience, and has at least eight years of construction management experience. A valid driver’s license, ability to travel up to 100%, strong organizational abilities, basic knowledge of construction law, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and excellent communication and customer‑service skills are required. The candidate must also demonstrate a positive, professional attitude and commitment to equal employment opportunity and inclusive behaviors. • Hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction‑related field or 10 years trade experience. • Minimum of eight years of construction management or related experience. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationwide. • Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage multiple complex projects. • Possess basic knowledge of construction law and generally accepted business practices. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. • Exhibit a positive, professional attitude with strong customer‑service skills. • Utilize active listening and effective communication, welcoming diverse input and feedback.
