About the Role

The Manager, Production Line is accountable for achieving employee retention, quality, and production goals through strong leadership, development of employees and processes, efficient scheduling of resources, and continuous improvement, while also meeting long‑term strategic objectives such as budget, project, and headcount management. Key duties include developing and implementing policies to enhance production efficiency, equipment utilization, and product quality, leading and mentoring team members, recruiting and retaining staff, ensuring compliance with corporate HR and OSHA standards, and managing supervisor performance and staffing arrangements. The role requires planning production schedules, capacity, and cost plans to meet established targets, coordinating machine and labor usage, monitoring raw material flow with KANBAN and MRP data, scheduling equipment maintenance, and reviewing performance metrics for equipment utilization, output, and waste. Continuous improvement responsibilities involve communicating weekly production updates, driving process enhancements, conducting root‑cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and participating in Quality Improvement Team meetings, while also attending various operational meetings and handling occasional travel. • Develop and enforce policies to improve production, equipment use, job performance, and product quality. • Lead, train, motivate, and develop team members to achieve retention and performance goals. • Recruit, orient, train, and provide feedback to maintain staffing levels and employee growth. • Ensure compliance with corporate HR policies and OSHA regulations, maintaining a safe work environment. • Approve vacation/sick leave, hire temporary workers, and manage supervisor performance. • Review monthly budgets with Accounting and adjust costs to meet efficiency targets. • Create and implement production, capacity, and cost plans aligned with departmental goals. • Prioritize and schedule production based on MRP data, coordinating machines and labor. • Monitor raw material flow using KANBAN, generate purchase requisitions, and oversee equipment maintenance. • Analyze equipment utilization, output, and waste metrics and report to senior management. • Communicate weekly production updates via production boards and drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions; participate in Quality Improvement Team meetings. • Attend shift overlap, safety, daily management, and other operational meetings; occasional travel required.
