About the Role

The role involves designing, installing, and servicing electronic security system software and hardware, completing system and network programming, and troubleshooting damaged equipment. You will act as a liaison with customers, coordinate testing and acceptance with agencies, and ensure proper application of system products to meet client requirements. You will also be responsible for engineering, configuring, installing, maintaining, and supporting data/video communication networks—including wireless and IP solutions—while developing training tools and maintaining up‑to‑date documentation of security, fire, and network configurations. • Design, install, and service software and hardware for electronic security systems. • Program system and network configurations and troubleshoot equipment issues. • Serve as the primary liaison with customers to ensure clear communication and satisfaction. • Coordinate testing and final acceptance with customers and agencies such as police and fire departments. • Engineer, configure, install, maintain, and support data/video communication networks, including wireless and IP solutions. • Develop training materials and provide technical support for users with varying IT, security, and fire knowledge. • Create and maintain accurate documentation, diagrams, and programming records for security, fire, and network systems. • Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and fire plans to guide installations and repairs.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include an associate degree (preferred) or high school diploma, relevant certifications, and experience with enterprise‑level security, fire, and communication systems such as Genetec, Lenel, and Cisco networking equipment. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are essential, together with a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain security clearances, on‑call availability, and willingness to travel; candidates must hold a Canadian passport or permanent residency. • Hold an associate degree (preferred) or high school diploma with relevant security, fire, or communication certifications. • Possess experience with enterprise-level access control, CCTV, intrusion, nurse call, and RTLS platforms (e.g., Genetec, Lenel, Milestone, Kantech). • Demonstrate proficiency in Cisco LAN/WAN network engineering, including Layer 2/3 switches and routers. • Maintain strong oral and written communication, organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills; hold a valid driver’s license and be eligible for security clearances, on‑call support, and travel; possess a Canadian passport or permanent residency.
