About the Role

Key responsibilities include providing technical design input, preparing 2500 documentation and carrying out MOVA/UTC design work, reviewing and checking design documentation produced by junior members, performing quality checks on data and drawing outputs, and ensuring health and safety is embedded in all work practices. The candidate must communicate clearly with colleagues in India and the UK, manage tasks within time, budget and resource constraints, attend and contribute to meetings, and submit accurate timesheets. • Conduct quality checks on data and drawing outputs. • Provide technical design input and prepare 2500 documentation with MOVA/UTC design. • Review and mentor junior team members' traffic signal design documentation. • Ensure health and safety compliance in all work practices. • Manage tasks within time, budget, and resource constraints. • Attend and contribute to team and project meetings; submit accurate timesheets.

What You Bring

The appointed candidate will support the Traffic Signals team on a variety of high‑profile projects across the UK and internationally, contributing to the development and application of traffic signals, junction design and analysis, and providing support for signal scheme submissions. The role is suitable for a young, enthusiastic individual with a few years of CAD and design experience in highways, parking or autotrack, a solid understanding of traffic‑signal principles, and proficiency with CAD and Microsoft Office. Mandatory competencies are knowledge of software theory and limitations, teamwork under guidance, adherence to project timelines and budgets, strong MS Office (Word, Excel) skills, and good communication. Experience with AutoCAD, Key Signals, traffic‑signal specifications, and capacity modelling using LinSig is required, while familiarity with FAT/SAT and MOVA/SCOOT validation is beneficial. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a master’s in transport planning or equivalent, and up to six years of post‑graduate experience, with a desire to attain a professional qualification such as ICE or CIHT. • Communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues in India and the UK. • Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD, Key Signals, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). • Apply traffic signal principles, FAT/SAT knowledge, and capacity modelling using LinSig. • Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's in transport planning (or equivalent) with up to 6 years' experience. • Work towards a professional qualification such as ICE or CIHT.
