Applicants must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Class A CDL with a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, and have completed a qualified apprenticeship resulting in a Journeyman Lineman certification. They should have extensive knowledge of primary feeder circuits, transformer loading, fusing practices, and experience with electric meter sets, hot‑line tools, protective devices, and a variety of line construction and maintenance vehicles. The hiring process includes an online assessment followed by a selection review, and qualified candidates must pass the Xcel Energy Journeyman Lineman test on site.
