About the Role
The journeyman will construct iron and steel structures to specifications, focusing on the Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) and other miscellaneous structures involved in the construction. Key duties include reading blueprints and specifications, identifying tools and safety risks, fabricating equipment, rigging and hoisting components, verifying alignment, bolting structural members, and performing cutting, bending, and welding operations. • Read blueprints and specifications to determine material quantities, locations, and sizes. • Identify required tools and safety precautions for each task. • Fabricate equipment according to blueprints or supervisor instructions. • Hoist equipment and tools using bull rigging or crane. • Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members with plumb bobs, lasers, transits, or levels. • Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts according to plans. • Bolt aligned members for permanent riveting or bolting. • Position iron/steel equipment by pulling, pushing, or prying for bolting. • Cut, bend, and weld iron/steel pieces using shears, torches, and welding equipment.

ZACHRY is seeking an experienced Maintenance Industrial NCCER Boilermaker for EXXONMOBILE Beaumont in Beaumont, Texas. No per diem is offered. Candidates must have at least four years of NCCER Boilermaker experience with exchanger work, possess all required knowledge, skills, and abilities, meet the physical requirements, be able to work at heights over 300 ft, and have the necessary tools and reliable transportation. Applicants should be a current or former Zachry (or Zachry ROF’ed) employee, hold NCCER certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter, have formal or technical education, and be prepared for extensive standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lb, working at heights, and wearing required personal protective equipment. • Meet physical demands: stand, walk, bend, squat, lift up to 50 lb, work at heights over 300 ft, and use fall protection. • Wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, and leather work boots. • Minimum 4 years NCCER Boilermaker experience with exchanger work. • NCCER certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter. • Current or former Zachry (or Zachry ROF’ed) employee. • Reliable transportation and necessary tools.
