About the Role
The Facilities Technician supports the Operations Manager or Manager on Duty by executing safety plans, operating standards, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance to protect the property’s physical assets. Day‑to‑day duties include maintaining building systems, performing minor repairs, handling interior and exterior upkeep, managing inventory records, and assisting with event set‑ups and mall décor. The technician also contributes to custodial tasks, snow removal, and emergency response while upholding GGP’s Safety, Health, and Environment policy. • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems. • Operate equipment for preventative maintenance and minor repairs. • Perform interior and exterior upkeep, including painting, drywall, plumbing, lighting, flooring, and roof work. • Manage inventory, records, safety data sheets, supplies, and tools. • Repair, modify, and relocate retail merchandising units. • Set up events and install/take down mall décor. • Conduct custodial duties, snow removal, and support emergency planning while following safety policies.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, have 2–3 years of building‑maintenance experience, and possess a valid driver’s license. Strong communication skills, the ability to read plans and schematics, and a self‑starter attitude are required; a technical school certificate, OSHA General Industries 10‑hour course, or bilingual ability are considered assets. The position demands regular standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), and exposure to moderate noise, mechanical parts, fumes, and outdoor weather.
