About the Role

The Senior Skilled Trades Workforce Manager will educate, manage, and promote the use and growth of skilled tradespeople on JE Dunn projects. Working with safety, quality, and field supervision, the role ensures tradespeople are trained in craft, safety, quality, productivity, leadership, and technology, while also overseeing workforce resource management and growth strategy. • Lead safety culture initiatives, mentor staff, and investigate incidents. • Manage supply and demand for skilled trades workforce. • Oversee internal and external hiring plans for skilled trades. • Develop workforce progression through certification and training. • Partner internally to manage trades sourcing strategies. • Allocate hourly labor to projects and coordinate regional workforce movement. • Collaborate with construction supervision to forecast labor needs and maintain communication. • Visit job sites and maintain relationships with superintendents and project managers. • Work with field leadership to establish project staffing. • Classify trades workforce by skill set and certifications. • Ensure scheduled training is planned and delivered. • Oversee full employment life‑cycle. • Conduct new employee orientations covering policies, benefits, and procedures. • Assist proposal process by advising on skilled trades resources. • Support safety investigations of incidents and near‑misses, identify root causes, and retrain staff. • Promote diversity and inclusion, ensuring non‑discrimination policies are applied. • Develop and execute sourcing and hiring plans for skilled trades. • Partner with regional/national self‑perform teams to create and update training programs. • Predict workforce needs with self‑perform leadership in assigned areas. • Ensure full life‑cycle support for skilled trades workforce. • Direct strategic workforce planning, including resource, development, and growth strategies. • Act as regional relationship executive for workforce matters. • Review resource management plans to maintain adequate staffing levels relative to schedules. • Deliver effective presentations. • Build lasting relationships with team members beyond individual projects. • Utilize JE Dunn construction technology and scheduling software. • Collaborate internally and externally to build relationships. • Perform frequent sitting and screen work; occasional standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling.

The position operates with high autonomy, making most decisions independently and consulting supervisors as needed, and it serves as a pathway to the Skilled Trades Workforce Director role. • Perform work accurately, completely, and timely. • Communicate effectively in verbal and written formats. • Use MS Office proficiently. • Apply construction management fundamentals. • Understand project processes and their contribution to successful completion. • Operate project management and accounting software proficiently. • Apply Lean processes and philosophy. • Possess knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work. • Understand self‑perform operations and labor productivity. • Recognize organizational structure and available resources. • Hold a High School/GED (required) or a Bachelor’s degree in construction management/engineering (preferred). • Bring 8+ years of construction experience (required) and, preferably, IT/security/life safety systems experience. • Apply Lean principles where applicable (preferred). • Maintain a valid unrestricted driver’s license. • Lift up to 10 lbs and work non‑traditional hours as needed. • Travel periodically and work in varied office or extreme conditions.
