About the Role
In this position, the leader will provide technical leadership for the aviation civil engineering group, make independent engineering decisions, and coordinate work across multiple disciplines and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include producing design drawings, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and overseeing construction administration and inspection. • Lead design and engineering of airport facilities such as runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, and terminals. • Develop construction specifications in accordance with FAA AC 150/5370‑10 and state regulations. • Produce design reports, schedules, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates. • Utilize Civil 3D and other software to generate plans and drawings. • Coordinate with planners, architects, mechanical, electrical, structural, geotechnical, and specialty engineers, as well as utilities, permitting agencies, and contractors. • Serve as Task Leader, providing supervision and mentorship to CAD staff, designers, and junior engineers. • Conduct construction administration, including shop drawing review, contractor inquiries, and site inspections. • Manage project scope to stay within budget and schedule constraints.

What You Bring
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (or a related field) with at least eight years of relevant experience, U.S. citizenship, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass required background checks. Preferred qualifications are advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD/Civil 3D, experience in construction administration, and demonstrated leadership on airfield design projects. • Minimum 8 years of civil engineering experience with a BS degree; U.S. citizenship and valid driver’s license required. • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Microsoft Office. • Proven experience leading airfield design and construction tasks within larger projects. • Ability to work both in office and field environments and communicate effectively.
