About the Role

The successful candidate will carry out a variety of internal painting and decorating tasks across occupied residential properties, as well as respond to day‑to‑day repair requests. Work includes surface preparation, applying finishes, wallpapering, and occasional external painting at height. You will also support void property refurbishments and reactive maintenance, ensuring properties are returned to a lettable or livable condition with high quality and safety standards. • Prepare and paint internal surfaces such as walls, ceilings, doors, and woodwork. • Apply emulsion, gloss, specialist finishes and wallpaper accurately. • Perform external painting at height using ladders, including fascia boards and soffits. • Treat damp and mould problems. • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations. • Support void property refurbishments and reactive maintenance tasks. • Conduct snagging and touch‑up work after other trades. • Maintain tools, equipment and the company vehicle to a high standard. • Complete job records and documentation accurately and on time. • Work flexibly to meet deadlines and service expectations.

What You Bring

The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider maintenance team, and excellent communication with tenants, clients and colleagues. You will maintain tools, equipment and the company vehicle, complete job records accurately, and work flexibly to meet deadlines while complying with health and safety regulations. • Communicate professionally with tenants, clients and colleagues. • Proven experience in painting, decorating and wallpapering. • Ability to work safely at height and use ladders. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Good communication and customer service skills. • Own hand tools and a full UK driving licence.

Benefits

Annual salary for this Painter & Decorator position is up to £42,840 per annum. The role is full‑time permanent, based in Dartford, with a 42.5‑hour week. Benefits include a company van, fuel card, training and development, and staff rewards.
