About the Role
The Manager, Customer Safety Trainer is responsible for leading field safety trainers, driving productivity, and growing safety training revenue and margins across assigned regions in alignment with Sunbelt’s strategic plan. In this role the manager oversees coaching, compliance, scheduling, recruitment, and delivery of safety training programs, while collaborating with sales and branch teams to integrate training services into broader customer solutions. • Coach District Safety Trainers to maximize class sizes, optimize schedules, and meet or exceed monthly revenue targets. • Ensure DSTs adhere to SOPs, including timely invoicing and proper storage of student documents. • Maintain a minimum three‑month rolling training calendar in the LMS for all customers. • Audit trainer paperwork for accuracy and correct filing within the LMS. • Identify new markets that could support a full‑time trainer based on demand and upcoming job starts. • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and rapid performance coaching of new safety trainers. • Partner with branch managers to recruit branch trainers and Customer Evaluators, and re‑engage non‑participating CEs. • Deliver equipment operator certification and general safety training when DST capacity is limited. • Keep all equipment operator and related certifications current. • Assist in developing the annual budget for the coverage area and monitor performance against it. • Analyze negative budget variances, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. • Drive profitable growth through industry partnerships, territory expansion, and upselling/cross‑selling opportunities. • Collaborate with national and strategic account teams to sell safety training to customers and mega projects. • Present training offerings at sales meetings and train sales staff on how to market safety programs. • Foster integration with district, regional, and territorial sales leadership to create a unified training culture.

What You Bring
Successful candidates hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory abilities, understand profit‑and‑loss fundamentals, and possess extensive knowledge of construction safety standards. They are organized self‑starters, comfortable with 20‑40% travel, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
