About the Role
The designer will create detailed high‑voltage substation (Air & GIS) design packages, covering single‑line diagrams, layouts, calculations, equipment selections, grounding, lighting, and bill of materials. They will also develop protection and control design packages including P&C schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts. What You Bring
Candidates need a diploma or bachelor’s degree in drafting or electrical design and at least three years of experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, or AutoCAD Map3D in power delivery or renewable energy projects. Strong CAD proficiency, knowledge of industry standards, and the ability to work on multi‑disciplinary projects independently are essential. Excellent time‑management, Microsoft Office, communication, and teamwork skills are also required, and authorization to work in the United States or Canada is mandatory. • Hold a diploma or bachelor's in drafting/electrical design and 3+ years of experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, or AutoCAD Map3D. • Demonstrate strong CAD skills with layers, blocks, XREFs, annotations, dimensioning, and adherence to standards. • Ability to work on multi‑disciplinary projects, manage time effectively, and work independently. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and advanced MS Office applications. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities. • Experience with 3D modeling, PVcase/PVCAD, renewable energy (wind, solar), and battery storage systems is a plus. • Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ANSI/IEEE, NESC, NEC, and CSA is advantageous. • Eligible for full‑time work in Canada or the United States.
