Cost Manager / Senior Cost Manager - Major Programmes (Government)
Manage cost planning, estimating, procurement & contracts for £10‑50m government construction projects.
Job Highlights
About the Role
The role may include SOX control responsibilities where applicable, and will be part of the Real Estate department. • Lead and support pre‑ and post‑contract cost activities, including estimates, procurement, tendering, contract administration and final accounts. • Conduct feasibility studies and develop comprehensive cost plans. • Produce, present and manage final cost plans and financial valuations. • Manage tendering and procurement processes, from pre‑qualification through tender analysis and contract documentation. • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and valuation of project costs. • Interface with clients and consultants throughout all project stages. • Manage post‑contract cost variances and change control procedures. • Perform cost risk analysis, contribute to value engineering and negotiate final accounts. • Mentor and develop junior team members, sharing expertise and best practices. • Support Directors on high‑profile regional projects.

What You Bring
• Hold a proven record of delivering high‑quality cost management/quantity surveying across the project lifecycle. • Possess a professional qualification (RICS or equivalent) – preferred. • Hold a degree or HNC level qualification. • Demonstrate ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
