About the Role
The engineer will perform civil design of over‑water structures and upland components, prepare technical reports, develop grading plans in Civil 3D, and support managers with plans, specs, schedules and cost estimates. Work will be coordinated with cross‑functional teams to meet scope, schedule, cost and quality goals, and will include storm‑water analyses that satisfy Department of Ecology requirements. • Perform civil design of overwater structures and upland facilities. • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and design calculations including stormwater and water‑quality analyses. • Develop site grading plans and roadway corridors using Civil 3D. • Assist managers with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates meeting client requirements. • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure scope, schedule, cost, and quality compliance. • Support site work planning, code compliance, and construction coordination. • Complete assigned training and adhere to WSP’s code of conduct and safety policies.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering and have three to five years of post‑graduation design experience. Familiarity with marine and port engineering principles, relevant construction codes and the Ecology Stormwater Management Manual is preferred. Proficiency in Civil 3D (minimum two years) and strong communication skills are required. Preferred qualifications include an Engineer‑in‑Training certification, a Washington PE license, participation in professional societies, and experience with marine upland facilities, field investigation, or commercial diving. Experience with additional software such as StormShed3G or WaterGEMS is advantageous. • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering. • 3–5 years of civil engineering design experience, preferably in marine or port projects. • Knowledge of marine, port and coastal construction codes and the Washington Ecology Stormwater Management Manual. • Minimum 2 years of Civil 3D experience, including grading objects and roadway corridors. • Strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with basic proficiency in engineering software, spreadsheets and technical writing. • Proven safety record and compliance with WSP health, safety and conduct policies. • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification; Washington PE license preferred. • Membership or active participation in local professional societies. • Experience designing marine upland facilities, field investigations, or construction support. • Commercial dive license (ADCI or DCBC). • Familiarity with additional software such as StormShed3G, WaterGEMS, or WWHM.

The salary range for this role is $90,800‑$114,000, with adjustments based on experience and location.
