About the Role

The role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle—from data collection and concept development to design, procurement, construction, and operation—ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations. • Collect and analyze site data, surveys, blueprints, GIS, and equipment specifications to develop procurement packages and detailed designs. • Review and approve electrical infrastructure design plans for mid‑level and complex projects, ensuring code and regulatory compliance. • Apply advanced electrical engineering techniques to improve concept development, preliminary, final design, procurement, construction, and operation phases. • Conduct investigations and inspections of existing and proposed substation layouts, grounding systems, lightning protection, and power plant facilities. • Develop construction specifications, cost estimates, safety and phasing plans, and coordinate layout updates with owners and multidisciplinary teams. • Oversee implementation of future‑ready technologies, monitoring devices, cabling, conduit, and trenching strategies to enhance safety and functionality. • Lead large‑scale electrical engineering projects, managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and performance tracking. • Review permit applications, engineering design plans, standby plans, and conduct periodic construction inspections for regulatory compliance. • Facilitate meetings with public and private stakeholders to address electrical engineering and construction challenges. • Prepare technical reports and presentations that clearly communicate research findings, recommendations, and risk mitigation strategies. • Grow a client base for high‑level electrical engineering services and identify business development opportunities. • Mentor junior staff, fostering professional growth and technical competency. • Stay current with emerging electrical engineering practices and technologies.

What You Bring

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical leadership, client engagement, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (master’s preferred). • Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferably multi‑state. • Minimum 10 years of experience delivering design deliverables for power generation, transmission, or distribution projects. • Proficiency with electrical engineering principles, infrastructure design, and permitting processes. • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (IEEE, NESC, ANSI, NERC) and regulatory requirements. • Experience with multidisciplinary coordination (P&C, SCADA, telecom) and construction management. • Advanced technical computing skills (CADD, ETAP, Aspen, CAPE, Inventor, spreadsheets, predictive models). • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client‑facing abilities. • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem‑solving, and QA/QC adherence. • Proven track record of safety leadership and compliance with WSP health, safety, and conduct policies.
