About the Role
The Tendering Manager position is based remotely in England for Hitachi Energy UK Limited, with occasional travel to UK sites. This full‑time role supports the company's annual targets by bridging technical, commercial, and contractual aspects of project delivery. In this role you will act as the primary interface with client teams, handling pre‑ and post‑tender inquiries, preparing presentations, and leading contract negotiations. You will oversee the creation of budget proposals, evaluate client documentation, and manage the end‑to‑end preparation of bids, including technical, financial, and operational elements while assessing risks and opportunities. • Create budget proposals and develop specifications/designs. • Evaluate client enquiry documents and interpret requirements and commercial terms. • Formulate competitive bids, estimates, and quotations using optimal product mixes. • Manage technical, financial, cash‑flow, and operational aspects of bids, including pricing and trading conditions. • Identify risks and opportunities within contract agreements across customers and channels. • Source and assess vendors for equipment and materials, coordinating with Supply Chain Management. • Maintain effective customer relationships and provide technical support to Sales Managers. • Liaise with internal and external suppliers across sales, supply chain, project management, planning, engineering, and commercial functions.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will have proven experience in the energy transition sector and strong communication skills to build relationships at all levels. Required expertise includes high‑voltage (400 kV–132 kV) and medium‑voltage (66 kV‑11 kV) systems, with additional knowledge of industrial, datacentre, renewables, power quality, and substation design considered advantageous. • Demonstrated experience in the energy transition industry. • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels. • Knowledge of HV (400 kV–132 kV) and MV (66 kV‑11 kV) systems; experience in industrial, datacentre, renewables, power quality, and substation design preferred. • Familiarity with contract terms and conditions, NEC3/4, and FIDIC is beneficial.
