Design, develop, and support SM-3 missile communications and integration for Aegis BMD

About the Role
The position focuses on supporting SM‑3 Block IIA missile communications, integrating command and control systems, and developing system architecture documentation. The engineer will also provide performance assessment and verification support while overseeing programmatic aspects of missile communications and warhead integration. • Support SM‑3 Block IIA missile communications for RF components. • Provide operational and technical integration for command and control systems. • Develop and document system architectures in Interface Control Documents, such as the GFC/C to Link‑16 interface. • Deliver performance assessment and verification (PAV) support to the Systems Engineer. • Create and execute PAV plans to monitor and verify system performance. • Oversee programmatic aspects of SM‑3 Block IIA communications, guidance, and kinetic warhead integration. • Work independently, collaboratively, or lead teams to solve engineering challenges.

What You Bring
Candidates must be U.S. citizens with an active Secret clearance, hold a STEM bachelor’s degree, and have at least seven years of experience on Department of Defense or missile‑defense software projects. They should be able to work independently, as part of a team, or lead tasks, applying rigorous engineering methods to solve complex problems. Preferred qualifications include an active TS/SCI clearance, prior work with AEGIS weapons systems, and experience in fleet operations or systems engineering. • Hold U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance and a STEM bachelor’s degree. • Bring at least seven years of DOD or missile‑defense software experience. • Possess an active TS/SCI clearance (desired). • Have prior experience with Aegis weapons systems and missile software development (desired).
