About the Role
As an MCT you will be trained to provide first‑line support for a wide range of measurement and control solutions across the Test Bed Facility and Test Vehicle, primarily covering Trent engines but also supporting legacy fleet engines and technology demonstrators. You will diagnose faults, implement smart fixes, and escalate complex issues while ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Key responsibilities include conducting fault‑finding investigations on measurement and control systems, implementing containment actions, and driving issues to root cause; calibrating and coordinating test facility measurement and conditioning equipment; maintaining the measurement and control infrastructure; manufacturing looms and electrical slave equipment; and identifying improvements to operational efficiency. You will also manage your personal workload to meet customer expectations and ensure continuity of work across shifts with clear communication to stakeholders. • Provide first‑line support for measurement and control systems on test facilities and vehicles. • Diagnose faults, implement containment actions, and escalate complex issues. • Calibrate and coordinate measurement and conditioning equipment. • Maintain infrastructure and manufacture looms/electrical slave components. • Identify and implement operational efficiency improvements. • Prioritise workload to meet customer expectations and ensure shift continuity.

What You Bring
The role requires a Time Served Apprenticeship in an electrical or manufacturing engineering discipline, solid knowledge of test facilities and technologies, electrical fault‑finding skills, and general application support experience with measurement and control systems. • Hold a Time Served Apprenticeship in electrical or manufacturing engineering. • Possess strong knowledge of test facilities, electrical fault finding, and measurement/control systems.
