About the Role

The Carpenter is responsible for designing, constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and other items of wood, plywood, and wallboard using pneumatic and electric power tools. They fasten materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives and perform a final accuracy check. Knowledge of advanced layout, simon forms, anchor bolt placement, material takeoff from drawings, and safety requirements is required. The role also demands learning all safety hazards and the safe operation of tools and equipment, and may be performed in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting. • Read and interpret blueprints/sketches, and complete reports • Instruct laborers and other construction trade helpers • Build and set forms, use level instruments, tie rebar, build scaffold, finish carpentry work, read tape/ruler, set screeds, install batter boards, and operate various hand and power tools • Inspect areas and conduct repairs or maintenance • Assist other craft workers as needed

What You Bring
