About the Role

• Partner with branch leadership to understand operational processes, contract structures, and commercial drivers. • Own financial performance and challenge teams on delivery against commercial terms, targets, and KPIs. • Produce monthly commercial and financial performance reviews with clear, insightful commentary. • Identify, quantify, and communicate risks and opportunities, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. • Lead rolling forecasts and annual budgets with robust, transparent assumptions aligned to delivery plans. • Support contract activities including pricing reviews, variations, repricing, and tendering opportunities. • Communicate financial and commercial information to non‑financial stakeholders for informed decisions.

What You Bring

The role sits at the heart of the business, providing comprehensive commercial and financial partnership to senior operational leaders. You will own the financial performance of the branches, translating data into actionable insight, challenging delivery against commercial terms and supporting achievement of group financial targets. Close collaboration with operational teams will ensure that contract profitability is monitored and enhanced. The position demands a blend of technical finance expertise and commercial acumen to influence non‑financial stakeholders. The successful candidate will have proven experience as a Finance and Commercial Manager within a contract‑driven environment, confidence in handling complex financial models, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely. A proactive, hands‑on attitude and the capacity to work independently while taking ownership of outcomes are essential. Experience in social housing, including familiarity with schedules of rates and subcontractor pricing, is highly desirable. • Proven track record supporting operational teams in a contract‑based environment. • Confidence in building and interpreting complex financial models and challenging performance. • Excellent communicator able to explain complex financial data clearly and commercially. • Experience in social housing and housing maintenance is desirable. • Commercial understanding of social housing schedules of rates, subcontractor pricing, and final accounts.

An attractive remuneration package of up to £70,000, plus a £4,500 car allowance and mileage reimbursements, is on offer for a Finance and Commercial Manager based in the Leeds and Manchester area. This permanent, full‑time role operates on a hybrid model, with three to four days in the branch offices and one to two days working from home.
