About the Role

Safety is paramount; the employee follows lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, maintains plant cleanliness, and adheres to all company safety policies while wearing required personal protective equipment. The role also includes providing on‑the‑job training to new hires and communicating relevant information to management and team members. • Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain chillers, steam turbines, HP boilers, valves, traps, expansion joints, and associated piping systems. • Perform chemical analysis of boiler water and operate cold‑water zeolite regeneration. • Conduct precision alignment, install mechanical seals, belts, couplings, and service hydraulic, pneumatic, and city‑water equipment. • Monitor equipment, log operations, develop resolutions for failures, and prepare work permits and orders. • Execute predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on valves, pumps, turbines, chillers, and distribution equipment. • Provide on‑the‑job training to new staff and coordinate daily work plans and priorities. • Follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, maintain plant cleanliness, and adhere to all safety policies. • Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What You Bring

The position requires working rotating shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays, and involves physically demanding tasks such as climbing, lifting up to 50 lb regularly, and maneuvering heavier loads. Employees must pass a pre‑employment physical, drug screening, and hold a valid driver’s license; a Kansas City Operating Engineers License must be obtained within three years. • High school diploma or equivalent plus ≥3 years pipe‑fitting and steam plant maintenance experience. • Preferred: Navy nuclear background, technical trade school training, welding certification, boiler/power‑plant or chilled‑water system experience. • Must obtain a Kansas City Operating Engineers License within 3 years. • Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet company driving‑record standards. • Must be able to lift 50 lb regularly, maneuver up to 100 lb, and wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, shoes, hearing protection, respirator).
