Mechanical Senior Project Manager - (Project Lead)

About the Role

The role is accountable for delivering MEP services to agreed outcomes for time, budget, safety and quality. It requires leadership of technical and construction teams, governance and assurance, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Lead and manage the MEP team, providing clear direction and ensuring compliance with Mace standards. • Deliver MEP services on schedule, within budget, and to safety, quality and commissioning standards. • Liaise with clients, consultants, trade contractors and other team leaders to build strong working relationships. • Drive the tendering process, offering technical and commercial support to bid teams and sector leadership. • Develop procurement strategies and secure specialist packages within agreed scope and budget. • Review contracts and scopes, assist in budget preparation, value engineering, scheduling and trade contract management. • Create and deploy project strategic plans aligned with Mace operating framework, including prefabrication, commissioning and safety initiatives. • Oversee design reviews for compliance, coordination, embodied carbon and operational energy against RIBA and BSRIA frameworks. • Prepare delivery strategies and programmes, managing milestones, interfaces, logistics and work sequencing. • Support and implement commissioning strategies following Mace standards, IST approach, ATPs and Soft Landings. • Conduct productivity assessments using digital technologies to identify trends, issues and critical path risks. • Manage project close‑out, ensuring delivery of commissioning, as‑built drawings, O&M manuals and client training. • Identify risks proactively and develop mitigation plans; drive continuous improvement and share lessons learned. • Provide performance management, technical development and coaching to a team of managers and professionals. • Collaborate on net‑zero carbon transition, managing associated emissions and reductions throughout project delivery.
