About the Role
The Driver‑CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services. The driver must ensure the vehicle complies with company safety standards and all applicable state and federal regulations, completing daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly. Key duties include performing thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections, following assigned routes and service schedules, operating manual or automatic controls to load, compact, and unload waste, and interacting professionally with customers and dispatchers. The driver must also identify and tag unsatisfactory containers, monitor waste for prohibited materials, clean accidental spills, and keep the vehicle clean and operational. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report safety issues. • Safely operate a collection truck along assigned routes and to disposal sites. • Load, compact, and unload waste using manual or automatic controls. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers. • Identify, tag, and report unsatisfactory waste containers. • Monitor waste for prohibited materials and clean accidental spills. • Keep the vehicle clean and ready by removing waste from the packer blade and body. • Complete route productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports (VCRs), and other required documentation. • Meet departmental productivity standards and adhere to all safety policies. • Participate actively in the company’s ReSOP safety program. • Provide professional, honest, and trustworthy customer service. • Manage time efficiently to complete assigned duties safely. • Follow company policies, rules, and safety standards without taking unnecessary risks.
