About the Role
The role is a Technical Specialist Systems Engineer supporting defense and data challenges for a federal client. The contractor will provide engineering support to define and execute processes for the fit‑up of project‑specific IT infrastructure, including passive infrastructure and data‑center engineering, guiding the program through disciplined steps to meet customer and strategic objectives. • Gather, log, and track existing and new IT infrastructure requirements. • Develop and implement new processes to address identified issues. • Create executable schedules, work packages, and planning documentation. • Consolidate existing programs into a cohesive architecture. • Design detailed IT solutions and implementation strategies based on integrated architecture. • Perform gap analysis of current architecture and evaluate integration alternatives. • Identify risks and provide oversight for facility and IT integration. • Collaborate with client service providers to ensure design consistency with architecture. • Produce status and progress reports through formal reviews and informal meetings. • Provide conceptual passive IT infrastructure designs for cable plant and hardware. • Work with network service providers on topology planning and implementation. • Review data center designs, ensuring compliance with power, space, and cooling constraints. • Coordinate integration of new IT systems with deployment organizations. • Conduct long‑term analysis of facilities, capabilities, trends, and future requirements. • Write and maintain data‑center and passive communications standards and procedures.

What You Bring
The position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in systems engineering and a strong background in IT infrastructure design. Candidates must be able to operate effectively in dynamic, team‑oriented settings and possess the communication and organizational abilities necessary to lead complex projects. • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience. • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. • Active Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph required. • Strong multitasking, organizational, and interpersonal skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
