About the Role

The Carpenter General Foreman oversees and coordinates the daily operations of civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines. The role involves supervising crews, managing resources, and liaising with project managers and subcontractors while maintaining accountability for crew performance and safety. This position requires work in plant operations or construction jobsite settings and includes responsibility for enforcing safety, quality, and compliance with company, federal, and state regulations. • Supervise and coordinate civil construction crews, including earthworks, concrete, drainage, storm water, and structural work. • Direct Foremen and Leadmen on-site to optimize company resources and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. • Provide formal coaching feedback to Foremen. • Schedule equipment, materials, and tools to maximize production and minimize costs, collaborating with the Civil Superintendent. • Manage, coach, train, and implement standardized work plans, assisting the Civil Superintendent with process improvements. • Ensure safe working conditions and enforce safety procedures for the specific discipline. • Enforce company, jobsite, federal, and state safety regulations and address concerns with the Civil Superintendent. • Communicate project construction expectations to craftspeople, subcontractors, and vendors. • Maintain records of labor and equipment production and compare them to estimates. • Report cost overruns and resource utilization to the Civil Superintendent. • Mentor Foremen on production costs, scope, quality, and safety. • Maintain and update crew and equipment matrices. • Hold crew members and Foremen accountable for company and project rules. • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and Best Practices. • Conduct weekly/quarterly safety and quality audits. • Obtain permits to support work performed. • Hear and comprehend directions; use hands frequently for grasping, lifting, and handling objects. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; walk on uneven or muddy terrain. • Operate office equipment and drive cars/trucks as needed. • Communicate effectively with management, supervision, and field workers. • Read, write, and comprehend instructions and safety policies. • Perform math calculations as required.

What You Bring

• Understand mix designs and concrete curing processes. • Possess advanced knowledge of QC checkout processes. • Ability to lift up to 25 lb (occasionally up to 50 lb) and perform sedentary to heavy work. • Tolerate prolonged bending, twisting, walking, reaching overhead, squatting, sitting, standing, and exposure to adverse weather. • Vision requirements include close, distance, and focus adjustment. • Work at various tempos and concentrate amid distractions. • Demonstrate strong decision‑making and detail‑oriented skills. • Exhibit leadership and motivational abilities.
