About the Role
• Organise and maintain site order. • Assist and lead across construction disciplines. • Communicate with team and guide junior members. • Take direction from line managers and challenge when necessary. • Ensure compliance with Group Safety Policy and health & safety regulations. • Direct labour, plant, staff and equipment to meet schedule, specifications and budget. • Lead and develop staff, fostering high morale. • Train and develop junior team members. • Monitor performance against contract targets and implement corrective actions. • Coordinate material and subcontract orders with Buying and Surveying teams. • Ensure staff training and development are completed at appraisal stages. • Achieve high scores on twice‑monthly health and safety audits. • Work on high‑value projects within a £4.1 bn order book.

What You Bring
Galliford Try is seeking a Senior Site Manager for the East Midlands region. The successful candidate will be based near the East of England and will travel across multiple sites and projects within the region. • Understand position within construction team and expectations. • Significant experience on design‑and‑build projects for a main contractor. • Proven management of health & safety, design and procurement processes. • Ability to coordinate packages from design through to installation and handover. • Experience on Education or Ministry of Justice projects (preferred). • Trade and site experience. • Up‑to‑date knowledge of health & safety obligations and building legislation. • CSCS Card at Site Manager level. • Valid SMSTS certificate.
