About the Role

The Principal DevSecOps Engineer will create and develop processes and automation needed to scale solutions and platforms. The role collaborates with leadership, architects, software engineers, operations, security and other team members to develop and deliver software releases, removing barriers between development, testing and operations with a strong focus on security, best practices, and infrastructure stability. The candidate works on challenging projects in both functional and technical areas, leveraging cloud and automation expertise in a fast‑paced, fluid environment. Responsibilities include automation scripting, infrastructure orchestration, release and configuration management, and continuous integration, while identifying operational patterns and creatively automating solutions. The engineer will implement and manage CI/CD tools, monitor metrics for continuous improvement, and mentor others on technologies and processes. Apply DevSecOps methodologies by creating integrated IT operations, security, and development processes to increase the speed, efficiency and quality of digital solutions. Provide DevSecOps mentoring and thought leadership, focusing on stakeholder requirements and continuous improvement of delivery approaches. Participate in strategic project planning meetings to assess risk, cost‑benefit and impact. Architect workflows and assurance activities that support the transition of applications and infrastructure from development to production, driving ownership of the release process and automating repeated tasks. Accelerate deployments with continuous integration/delivery, continuous monitoring and configuration management tools. Analyze security, backup and redundancy strategies, evaluate application performance, identify bottlenecks, develop and implement solutions with developers. Work with Agile development teams to deliver end‑to‑end automation of deployment, monitoring and infrastructure management in cloud or on‑premise environments. Train and mentor development, security and infrastructure teams on DevSecOps technologies and best practices. Communicate solution concepts to all management levels, build strong stakeholder relationships, and own the DevSecOps platform roadmap by evaluating and integrating new technologies. Provide coaching, promote diversity, equity and inclusion, and lead a small team of contractors and employees as needed.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 8–10 years of relevant experience • Demonstrated technical skills relevant to the position • Knowledge of business practices and processes relevant to the role • Expertise with Azure and Azure DevOps • Strong problem‑solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience with all elements of change management • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple competing demands • Ability to travel domestically • Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (preferred) • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (preferred) • In‑depth knowledge of Azure CI/CD pipelines using YAML (preferred) • Thorough grasp of Agile and lean delivery concepts and methodologies, with a history of successfully applying them to manage teams (preferred)
