About the Role

The Senior Project Engineer will guide technical design efforts, develop work plans, estimate costs, create specifications, and support construction phases while ensuring quality control across calculations, models, and drawings. This role also involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and acting as the main liaison for clients, contractors, and other design professionals. • Lead technical design and staff on bridge projects. • Develop work plans for bridge designs and coordinate with other disciplines. • Perform cost estimating, develop specifications and construction documents, and lead construction phase support. • Mentor and develop design staff. • Contribute to internal standards of practice updates. • Conduct quality control and assurance checks on design calculations, modeling, CAD drawings, reports, estimates, and specifications. • Serve as primary contact for clients, design professionals, and contractors. • Act as quality coordinator for discipline‑led projects. • Assist in preparing technical narratives, scopes, and fee proposals for project pursuits. • Participate on professional association committees (optional). • Stamp/sign drawings or reports and act as Engineer of Record as needed.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a civil engineering degree, possess at least eight years of bridge or structural design experience, and be licensed as a PE in New York State. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation, familiarity with NYSDOT, AASHTO and AREMA codes, and a strong work ethic are desired. • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (master’s a plus). • Minimum 8 years of bridge or structural design engineering experience. • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State or reciprocal. • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation (preferred). • Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous learning. • Knowledge of NYSDOT, AASHTO, and AREMA design codes (preferred). • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
