About the Role
Key responsibilities include creating and updating contract programmes, producing resource‑loaded schedules to identify critical paths and financial data for Earned Value Management, providing weekly input to ensure planned outcomes, and delivering monthly reports for internal and external reviews. The role also supports tender submissions with programmes that strengthen bid credibility and requires liaison with cross‑functional teams of diverse technical backgrounds. • Develop detailed tender, pre‑construction and construction phase programmes for design‑and‑build projects. • Liaise with cross‑functional teams to produce and maintain contract programmes, including resource‑loaded schedules. • Identify critical paths, sequencing, float and integrate financial data for Earned Value Management where required. • Provide weekly updates to ensure planned outcomes are achieved and prepare monthly reports for internal and external reviews. • Support tender submissions with programmes that enhance bid credibility in wireless, telecoms, defence and renewable/EV sectors. • Maintain IT literacy across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and InDesign.

Galliford Try is seeking an experienced Scheduler/Planner to join its Digital Infrastructure Business, focusing on strategic market sectors such as wireless and fixed‑line telecoms, defence telecoms, and renewable/EV charging solutions. Reporting to the Strategic Development Manager, the role works within pre‑construction and operational teams to develop detailed tender, pre‑construction and construction phase programmes for design‑and‑build projects. The successful candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Project and Primavera, have experience with the NEC suite of contracts, and possess the ability to plan effectively and collaborate with others. Previous experience in defence, telecoms or EV charging/renewable energy infrastructure projects is preferred but not essential, and Security Clearance to SC level is required. The ideal applicant demonstrates confidence in communicating ideas, excellent written English, a drive for continuous improvement, commercial awareness, and the ability to present programme options professionally to clients and senior leadership. A construction background, strong teamwork, flexibility to manage fluctuating workloads, and IT literacy across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and InDesign are also essential. • Utilise Microsoft Project and Primavera to create and manage programmes; experience with NEC contracts is essential. • Obtain Security Clearance to SC level and apply knowledge of defence, telecoms and EV charging infrastructure (preferred). • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, commercial awareness and the ability to present programme options to clients and senior leadership. • Exhibit a proactive, team‑oriented attitude with flexibility to meet fluctuating workloads and tight deadlines.
