Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

• Custom Mechanical engineering of LV & MV Switchgear orders. • Prepare Mechanical Bill of Material based on electrical/customer inputs using standard designs. • Design custom assemblies when standard assemblies do not exist. • Complete all orders and projects with expected quality. • Complete orders/projects within specified schedule. • Work on process improvement projects. • Provide virtual technical support for shop floor for engineered orders. • Take up stretched assignments as needed.

What You Bring

• Mechanical Design Engineering knowledge. • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assemblies. • Knowledge of sheet metal operations and processing. • 3D modeling and design experience in ProE/Creo (Part, Sheetmetal, Assembly, Drawing). • Ability to work in a virtual environment (no physical product, plants in North America). • Strong verbal and written communication; interact with Electrical Engineers, Customers, Project Managers, Trainers. • Good interpersonal and customer relation skills. • Hands‑on experience in manufacturing or close collaboration with manufacturing. • Designing and manufacturing experience in sheet metal. • Knowledge of low voltage switchboard/switchgear design, installation, and use. • Ability to interpret basic front elevation, one‑line, and schematic drawings. • Experience in mechanical design of low/medium voltage switchgear. • Ability to train other engineers on Creo software. • Professional and ethical conduct; courteous and businesslike manner. • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 2‑4 years relevant experience.
