About the Role
The CMC Materials Process Engineer – Laboratory position is a full‑time role based in Indianapolis, IN, with a hybrid schedule requiring three office days per week. In this role you will apply expertise in ceramic matrix composites to develop materials, processes, models, and analysis methods, and to support design, testing, manufacturing, and service operations. You will also be responsible for approval, validation, and control of raw materials and component manufacturing processes, as well as conducting failure and defect investigations. You will resolve problems through evaluative judgement, analyze information from multiple sources, and identify effective solutions using engineering expertise. The role includes leading defined technical packages, meeting program milestones, and delivering results within agreed cost, schedule, and quality constraints. As the primary point of contact within Materials Engineering, you will share subject‑matter knowledge, advise customers, and coach peers while promoting continuous improvement aligned with business objectives. • Develop CMC materials, processes, models, and analysis methods. • Lead technical packages to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets. • Act as primary Materials Engineering contact and provide advisory support. • Conduct failure and defect investigations throughout product life‑cycle. • Promote continuous improvement and align work with business objectives.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with at least two years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree (Master’s or PhD). U.S. citizenship is required. Preferred qualifications include relevant technical experience, strong analytical and innovative problem‑solving skills, familiarity with product integrity and certification frameworks, and membership in a professional engineering body. • Hold a STEM Bachelor’s (2+ years experience) or higher; U.S. citizenship required. • Demonstrate technical expertise, analytical thinking, and knowledge of certification frameworks. • Prefer membership in a relevant professional engineering body.
