About the Role
The Operating Engineer S2 – Critical Environments maintains and repairs electrical, mechanical, and plumbing/piping equipment, machinery, and controls in both interior and exterior building areas, ensuring continuous operation of critical systems under supervisor direction. • Perform tests, rounds, and data analysis on fire/life safety, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, UPS, generators, and hot water systems. • Monitor, adjust, and maintain refrigeration, chillers, boilers, HVAC, pumps, valves, and filters, recording readings as needed. • Diagnose system malfunctions, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions. • Install, repair, and rebuild plumbing, piping, motors, pumps, air compressors, heat exchangers, and electrical controls. • Operate and maintain critical equipment such as UPS systems, generators, chillers, and air‑conditioning units. • Oversee contractor activities, ensure safety compliance, and maintain engineering logs and records. • Follow hazardous material storage, disposal policies, and emergency escalation procedures. • Ensure understanding of Critical Facility Work Authorization and adhere to engineering guidelines.

What You Bring
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, have hands‑on data‑center experience with UPS systems, generators, and switch‑gear, hold a high school diploma or GED, and possess an Operating Engineer license (SMA) or equivalent, obtaining Universal Technician certification within 90 days. • Possess hands‑on data center/critical facility experience with UPS systems, emergency generators, and switch‑gear. • Hold a high school diploma/GED and Operating Engineer license (SMA) or equivalent; obtain Universal Technician certification within 90 days. • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; demonstrate strong verbal/written communication and customer service skills.

This on‑site role in Wappingers Falls, NY offers an estimated salary range of $80,000 to $108,000 and does not provide visa sponsorship.
