About the Role
Joining the Global Design to Value team gives you the chance to influence the portfolio of distribution, dry and traction transformers within Hitachi Energy’s product family. You will apply engineering and process expertise to lead analyses across the product value chain, coordinate DtV activities in factories, and facilitate idea‑generation workshops that drive margin improvements. In this role you will lead reverse‑engineering and benchmarking of DTR transformers, organize cross‑functional workshops, and continuously improve processes across designated locations. You will drive DFMA initiatives, provide training, conduct complex analyses, and work with local and global teams to audit and enhance competitive products while performing detailed cost analyses to support strategic decisions. • Lead reverse‑engineering and benchmarking of DTR transformers. • Organize and facilitate cross‑functional workshops across locations. • Drive DFMA initiatives, deliver DFA/DFM training and conduct improvement analyses. • Coordinate, audit, and enhance competitive product improvement with local and global teams. • Perform detailed product and process cost analyses, focusing on cost drivers. • Collect and interpret product cost and technical data to support strategic decisions. • Utilize DtV idea‑management tools to foster innovation and efficiency. • Act as a change agent with credibility, influencing and motivating others.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering (higher education is a plus) and has at least five years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, product design or quality. Certified Lean Six Sigma training is advantageous. Strong English communication, teamwork, coaching abilities, and knowledge of new‑product introduction, manufacturing processes and DFMA principles are required. You must be a change agent with proven ability to motivate others, achieve results and be willing to travel. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (higher education a plus). • Possess Lean Six Sigma training or certification (preferred). • Minimum five years’ experience in engineering, manufacturing, product design or quality. • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. • Demonstrate strong teamwork and coaching skills for organizational training. • Knowledge of new‑product introduction, manufacturing processes and DFMA principles. • Willingness to travel as required.
