About the Role
Technicians will deliver engineering and support services for various C2 facilities, assisting engineers with system installation and AV equipment deployment. Core duties include installing, configuring, and testing projectors, video displays, sound reinforcement, and video‑conferencing units, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting these systems. They also document work, provide basic user training, and collaborate with event staff to meet deadlines while adhering to safety regulations. • Install, configure, and test audio‑visual equipment such as projectors, video displays, sound reinforcement and video‑conferencing systems. • Set up and operate AV systems for meetings, conferences and events to ensure seamless media presentations. • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative servicing of AV hardware. • Troubleshoot and resolve AV technical issues under guidance of senior technicians or engineers. • Document system configurations, maintenance activities, and repair actions. • Provide basic AV training and technical support to end‑users. • Collaborate with team members and event staff to meet AV requirements and deadlines. • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies when handling equipment.

What You Bring
The Engineering Technician I role provides day‑to‑day support in laboratory testing, manufacturing, and troubleshooting/maintenance, with a preference for experience in multimedia and audio/visual control and distribution systems. This position reports to the VIDS Group in Chesapeake, VA, and is open only to Chugach employees, shareholders, and descendants. Work is performed onsite in an office environment. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, have at least one year of AV installation or integration experience, a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, and an active Secret clearance. Essential skills include basic AV hardware/software knowledge, familiarity with signal flow and cabling, the ability to read technical manuals, and strong problem‑solving and communication abilities. Preferred qualifications include AVIXA Certified Technical Specialist, Certified Quality Technician, Extron certifications, or an associate degree in engineering technology. • Self‑directed learning to stay current with industry trends and new AV technologies. • Hold a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a Secret security clearance. • Possess at least one year of AV installation/integration experience and a high school diploma or GED. • Demonstrate basic knowledge of AV hardware/software, signal flow, cabling, and ability to read technical manuals. • Preferred: AVIXA Certified Technical Specialist (CTS), Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Extron AV Associate or Control Specialist, and related AV industry certifications.
