About the Role
The Senior Project Manager acts as the Contracting Entity’s representative, overseeing a group of projects from planning and design through to commissioning. The role is accountable for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget and to specification, while meeting employer requirements and corporate strategic intent. Key programme responsibilities include monitoring schedule, interface, cost, variations, contract and risk, and liaising with relevant team members. The Senior Project Manager develops the Project Execution Plan to align with the Contracting Entity’s standards and methods, and actively engages and manages project relationships. Team management duties involve leading a team of Project Managers, each delivering one or more projects, and overseeing their day‑to‑day activities. The role ensures the use of appropriate project‑management techniques, maintains a detailed resourcing plan, provides technical and contractual support, reports on performance, and works with the Programme Director to resolve issues. Project‑management activities cover coordinating project interfaces, maintaining a Responsible/Accountable/Consulted/Informed (RACI) tracker, and working with technical teams and external design consultants. The Senior Project Manager organises design‑review meetings, communicates design acceptance and changes, reports monthly on tasks, maintains the risk register, improves procedures, manages change control and ensures smooth information flow between the team and the client. • Oversee project delivery schedule, cost, risk and contract compliance. • Develop and maintain a Project Execution Plan aligned with standards. • Engage and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers to ensure performance. • Create and update detailed resource plans for all assigned projects. • Coordinate design reviews and communicate design acceptance to contractors. • Maintain the project risk register and report monthly risk updates. • Manage change control processes and ensure proper documentation. • Facilitate regular information flow between the project team and client. • Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to specification.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in construction or infrastructure, including aviation or similarly complex projects, with hands‑on site experience. They should have documented best‑practice construction project‑management policies, a track record of delivering projects on time and on budget, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to govern outcomes. Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contracts, engineering and project‑management principles, and strong communication skills are required, along with weekly hybrid attendance at the client site. • Minimum 15 years construction/infrastructure experience, including aviation projects. • Hands‑on site experience with proven on‑time, on‑budget delivery record. • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. • Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contract suites and engineering principles.
