About the Role
The role leads and manages design development for RTA infrastructure projects, overseeing roads, interchanges, utilities, drainage, structures and associated works while ensuring compliance with RTA standards and Dubai authority requirements. • Lead and manage design development of RTA infrastructure projects (roads, interchanges, utilities, drainage, structures, etc.) per RTA standards. • Review, coordinate, and approve design deliverables across concept, preliminary, detailed, and IFC stages. • Ensure designs comply with RTA manuals, Dubai Authority requirements (DM, DEWA, Etisalat, Du) and international standards. • Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities, including highways, traffic, structures, drainage, utilities, lighting, ITS, and landscaping. • Review and provide technical input on calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and cost estimates. • Manage design interfaces to eliminate clashes between roadworks, utilities, structures, and existing infrastructure. • Respond to RTA design review comments, ensuring timely incorporation and closure. • Liaise with RTA Engineering, Traffic, and Safety departments during design development and approvals. • Ensure compliance with road safety audit requirements, traffic staging, and temporary traffic management design. • Support preparation and review of authority submissions, NOCs, and permits for RTA projects. • Participate in design coordination meetings, technical workshops, and value engineering sessions. • Identify design risks and propose innovative, cost‑effective, constructible solutions. • Provide technical support during tender stage, responding to queries, addenda, and clarifications. • Support construction teams by reviewing RFIs, design changes, and technical queries during execution. • Mentor junior engineers and ensure design deliverables meet quality, schedule, and RTA approval timelines. • Ensure proper document control and adherence to the Design Management Plan and QA/QC procedures. • Contribute to preparation of as‑built drawings and design closeout documentation.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will have at least ten years of experience in the UAE, deep knowledge of local authority procedures and regulations, and hold a BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to mentor junior engineers. • Minimum 10 years of experience in the UAE. • In‑depth knowledge of UAE local authority procedures, standards, and regulations. • BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
