About the Role

A Johnson Controls Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert who alleviates customer concerns about security systems. The technician advises customers and the customer care center on system status and inspection processes, and repairs or replaces burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, card access systems, and other security equipment. All necessary tools and equipment are provided so the technician can work independently from a remote location. In this commercial service role you will locate and resolve issues with damaged equipment or wiring, readjust, repair or replace inoperative components, and test systems for proper operation. You will prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs and coordinate inspections or installations with police, fire departments, and other appropriate agencies. Service Technicians are responsible for the service and repair of commercial security, fire alarm, CCTV, and card access systems. • Troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial security systems (burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, card access). • Advise customers and the customer care center on system status and inspection procedures. • Locate and fix damaged equipment or wiring, readjust, replace inoperative components, and test operation. • Prepare trouble order forms documenting temporary repairs. • Coordinate inspections and installations with police, fire departments, and other agencies.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of experience installing and inspecting/repairing Tyco Integrated Security or a comparable product line. Experience with card access, CCTV, and IP cameras is essential, along with excellent communication skills, an electrical/electronic background, and a valid driver's license. Mandatory vaccinations for hospital work include flu, MMR, chicken pox, and TB testing. • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum 5 years’ experience with Tyco Integrated Security or comparable systems. • Experience with Card Access, CCTV, and IP cameras; strong communication; electrical/electronic background; valid driver’s license. • Required vaccinations: flu shot, MMR, chicken pox, and TB testing for hospital work. • Preferred: fire‑alarm experience, some college education, NICET Level II or higher, US Marshall’s certification.

Benefits

The hourly pay range is $26.05–$33.65, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and market data, and the position includes a competitive benefits package.
