About the Role

A Driver – CDL (B) safely operates a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services. The driver must ensure the vehicle meets the company’s safety standards before each shift, comply with all company, state, and federal regulations, and complete daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly. Key duties include conducting thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls, and reporting any issues. Drivers follow route sheets and dispatcher instructions to load refuse, operate the compactor, and deliver material to designated disposal sites while maintaining professional interactions with customers and coworkers. They also monitor waste for prohibited items, tag unsatisfactory containers, clean accidental spills, keep the truck body clean, and submit required productivity and VCR documentation. • Perform pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues. • Safely operate the collection truck along assigned routes, following route sheets and dispatcher directions. • Load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of material at designated facilities. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers to ensure timely service. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers per departmental procedures. • Monitor waste for prohibited materials and clean accidental spills according to safety standards. • Keep the vehicle clean and operational by removing waste from the packer blade and truck body each trip. • Complete daily route, productivity, and vehicle condition reports (VCRs). • Meet department productivity standards while adhering to all safety policies and the ReSOP program.
