About the Role

• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting. • Follow site signage and supervisor instructions, providing progress reports. • Apply academic knowledge to work activities and maintain professional relationships. • Participate in training, meetings, orientation, and comply with safety protocols and PPE. • Assist project start‑up activities for Project Engineer, Superintendent, or Manager. • Help collect and review information for shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs. • Prepare and distribute contract‑required information to relevant parties. • Estimate change orders from subcontractors. • Attend site visits to observe and document field activities. • Draft correspondence to architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors. • Communicate job schedules with trades and subcontractors. • Monitor contractor compliance with Turner’s safety program. • Perform quantity take‑offs and studies using traditional or CAD programs. • Request and distribute subcontractor proposals. • Support project close‑out preparations.

What You Bring

The internship provides supervised, hands‑on experience on active construction projects, allowing interns to develop foundational knowledge in construction management, project finance, safety protocols, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and overall project lifecycle. Assignments may count toward academic credit and involve both field and office tasks. The role requires physical activity such as climbing stairs, ladders, and using hoists, with occasional lifting of up to 25 lb, and the ability to work in both office and construction‑site environments under varying noise and weather conditions. Employees must adhere to Turner’s safety policies, wear appropriate PPE, and may be exposed to typical construction hazards. • Enrolled in an accredited degree program (e.g., Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management) with at least one year of coursework. • Minimum age 18 and able to work on construction sites. • Strong interest in construction management and willingness to work standard hours plus overtime. • Demonstrated interpersonal skills through leadership, volunteerism, or community involvement. • Excellent verbal and written communication in English. • Ability to read and comprehend written information. • Capable of independent, supervised, and team work. • Exceptional organizational detail‑orientation. • Physical ability to lift 10‑25 lb, climb stairs/ladders, and use construction hoists.
