About the Role
The Helper provides general manual assistance for power‑plant construction projects, performing tasks such as equipment handling, digging, and fire‑safety standby under supervision. • Use industrial hand tools and power tools. • Move equipment, dig, retrieve equipment, and stand by for fire safety as directed. • Operate a fire extinguisher when required. • Climb onto structures and scaffolding safely. • Utilize rigging and hoisting devices such as chokers, chain falls, and come‑alongs to position materials. • Perform preventative maintenance, including lubrication and repairing worn parts. • Follow directions from the supervisor or journeyman.

What You Bring
The position requires strong physical endurance and the ability to adapt to varied work schedules, including potential weekend shifts, while possessing foundational construction experience. Successful candidates demonstrate problem‑solving aptitude, manual dexterity, effective communication, and a commitment to safety protocols, including the use of required protective gear in all weather conditions. • Meet all physical demands (standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 lb, working at heights). • Have reliable transportation and be able to work any of the seven days as needed. • Preferred: basic mechanical knowledge. • Preferred: experience on an industrial construction site. • Preferred: formal or technical education. • Demonstrate basic knowledge of hand and power tools. • Exhibit good problem‑solving abilities, manual dexterity, and reading comprehension. • Show strong teamwork and communication with co‑workers and supervisors. • Commit to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations. • Wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, steel‑toe boots). • Capable of working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and for up to 12 hours per shift.
