About the Role
The engineer will conduct independent studies, produce concise reports, and direct other engineers, technicians, and drafting personnel, reviewing and evaluating their results. Coordination of technical matters, maintaining adherence to accepted engineering standards, and keeping tasks within schedule and budget are essential responsibilities. The position also requires providing data for cost estimating, securing preliminary equipment costs, and investigating new methods to benefit the firm and its clients. As a Project Manager, the individual will oversee projects primarily within their own group while coordinating with other groups and clients, keeping project teams informed on status, progress, and next steps. Effective communication and collaboration across departments are vital to ensure project success. • Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications for cost‑effective construction. • Conduct independent studies and produce clear, concise reports for clients. • Direct and review work of engineers, technicians, and drafters. • Coordinate technical tasks to stay within schedule and budget. • Provide cost data and preliminary equipment estimates for project reviews. • Investigate and implement new methods and procedures to improve outcomes. • Serve as Project Manager, managing internal coordination and client communication.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least four years of experience with independent evaluation and application of standard engineering techniques; a Master’s degree can substitute for one year of experience. A B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering and North Carolina Professional Engineer registration are required, with familiarity with Civil3D preferred. • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience; B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering; NC PE license required. • Master’s degree may substitute one year of experience; Civil3D familiarity preferred.
