About the Role

WSP is seeking an Airfield Escort Services Technician to support construction and operational activities at Louisville International Airport in Louisville, KY. The technician will safely escort contractors, vendors, and trucking personnel through controlled airfield environments, ensuring compliance with airport safety requirements, operational protocols, and regulatory standards while navigating active work zones, runways, and taxiways. This role directly supports airfield safety, security, and operational continuity. In this position you will guide authorized contractors, construction crews, and truck operators to designated airfield and restricted‑access areas, clearly communicating work locations, key site features, and access procedures. You will provide direction on travel routes, checkpoints, and safe maneuvering around active airfield operations, maintain continuous visual contact, monitor radio communications, and report any unsafe behaviors, security concerns, or hazards. All activities must be documented through required logs, reports, and daily activity records, and performed in accordance with Part 139 and other federal regulations. • Escort contractors, construction crews, and trucks to authorized airfield areas. • Communicate site locations, access procedures, routes, and checkpoints. • Identify and report hazards such as active runways, aircraft movements, and construction activity. • Maintain visual contact and ensure vehicles stay on approved routes. • Monitor airfield radio communications and follow ATC or Operations directions. • Complete logs, reports, and daily documentation of escort activities. • Adhere to airport safety policies, security protocols, and Part 139 regulations. • Obtain and maintain required airport security credentials (SIDA badge, AOA access). • Work outdoors in varying weather and on rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and be able to obtain airport security credentials such as a SIDA badge and AOA access. Prior experience in airfield operations, transportation, construction escorting, or security is preferred but not required. Strong verbal communication, situational awareness, hazard‑recognition, and the ability to enforce safety rules professionally are essential, as is reliability, punctuality, and the capacity to work outdoors in varying weather and on shift schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. • Hold a high school diploma/GED and a valid driver’s license with a clean record. • Demonstrate strong verbal communication, situational awareness, and hazard‑recognition.
