About the Role

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) drives growth across direct and indirect customer accounts throughout the Mid‑Atlantic, focusing on establishing new OEM and machine‑builder relationships. The role influences purchasing decisions, expands market share on new and existing designs, and delivers strategic sales results through collaborative, solution‑oriented selling. Up to 50 % travel is required. The ASM is responsible for all customer locations in NY, PA, NJ, and MD, working closely with distributor commercial teams and internal groups such as customer service, application engineering, product line managers, and manufacturing engineering. Success is measured by meeting profitable sales volume targets and strategic objectives, using disciplined processes that include account planning, territory management, and CRM‑driven opportunity tracking. The manager also educates OEMs and distributors on Kollmorgen product value, guides customers toward customized solutions, and maintains a Key Account Management Plan while conducting quarterly business reviews. • Manage all direct and indirect customer accounts in NY, PA, NJ, and MD, emphasizing new OEM/machine‑builder development. • Drive specification of new designs and increase share on existing designs at customer sites. • Collaborate with distributor commercial teams and internal functions (customer service, engineering, product line, manufacturing) in a team‑selling environment. • Execute disciplined selling processes: purposeful account planning, time/territory management, and CRM‑driven funnel opportunity management. • Educate OEMs and distributors on Kollmorgen product differentiation and guide customers to customized solutions when standard products do not fit. • Develop and maintain a Key Account Management Plan (KAMP) and use CRM to coordinate tactical actions. • Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBR) to assess and validate customer needs. • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and channel‑partner events.
