About the Role
In this role you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, developing business opportunities to grow the group, and providing team leadership, project prioritisation and technical expertise to ensure successful project outcomes while meeting both client and Stantec expectations. You will ensure full utilisation of your teams on projects, collaborating with Project Managers and business leaders to resource work appropriately. The Group Leader function is combined with a senior principal engineer contribution. Day‑to‑day duties include people leadership, technical design and coordination of complex infrastructure projects, business development and client relationship management, and operational performance management to optimise team workload and profitability. • Lead talent management lifecycle: recruitment, training, career development, engagement, succession planning, coaching, mentoring, diversity, and leadership development. • Foster a success‑oriented environment through collaborative behavior and balanced influence. • Design complex projects, preparing specifications and technical documentation to meet project requirements. • Coordinate with clients, internal/external consultants, owners, contractors, subcontractors and vendors during requirement and coordination meetings. • Initiate and manage business development opportunities; maintain strong client relationships. • Lead or review proposals, pricing, methodology, variation estimates, and evaluate sub‑consultant tender responses. • Ensure optimal team utilisation via forecasting, workload management and task delegation.

What You Bring
To be successful you need a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, CPEng registration, at least 15 years of multi‑disciplinary infrastructure experience, strong knowledge of Australian codes, proven leadership of high‑performing teams, commercial acumen, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with at least 15 years of multi‑disciplinary infrastructure project delivery. • Be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with strong knowledge of Australian codes, standards and regulations. • Demonstrate leadership of high‑performing teams and strong commercial acumen. • Exhibit effective communication, negotiation, client relations and stakeholder management skills.
