About the Role

Mortenson is seeking an Operator who will be responsible for operating equipment as directed while adhering to all safety policies and procedures. The role involves operating a variety of equipment, following prescribed safety regulations, performing routine maintenance, following work plans and pre‑task cards, building relationships with diverse personnel, and handling additional duties as assigned. • Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid‑steer, boom lifts, roller, backhoe, and track crane. • Follow safety regulations and maintain clear, orderly housekeeping. • Perform routine maintenance, monitor equipment operation, and detect malfunctions. • Follow work plans and pre‑task cards. • Build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. • Read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, procedure manuals, and load charts. • Operate equipment using controls with knowledge of equipment uses and basic math skills.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold required equipment certifications, have at least one year of related experience, possess a current driver’s license with appropriate endorsements, and demonstrate strong teamwork, a positive attitude, professional customer service, and attention to detail. The position requires the ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, procedure manuals, and load charts, as well as basic mathematical skills and independent work habits with effective communication. Physical requirements include repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements and the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lb (over 50 lb with assistance). Duties may change without notice. • Hold required equipment certifications. • Minimum one year of related experience. • Possess a current driver’s license with proper classification and endorsements. • Demonstrate teamwork, positive attitude, professional customer service, and detail‑orientation. • Work independently with active listening, effective communication, and openness to feedback. • Physical ability to perform repetitive movements and lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lb (over 50 lb with assistance).
