About the Role
The Superintendent will plan, coordinate, and execute deep‑excavation work, including soil disposal, secant and caisson installation, and Support of Excavation (SOE) systems. The role requires leading project teams, overseeing subcontractors, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards, budget, schedule, and safety regulations. Key duties include developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and work plans for excavation and SOE scopes; coordinating design reviews for support systems; preparing submittals, RFIs, and change orders; and identifying risks related to ground conditions, sequencing, and logistics. The Superintendent will oversee daily field operations for excavation, shoring, drilling, and soil removal, verify proper installation of secant piles, soldier piles, lagging, walers, struts, and caisson foundations, and monitor heavy‑equipment usage such as excavators, drilling rigs, cranes, and haul trucks. Safety responsibilities involve enforcing OSHA and company safety protocols, conducting toolbox talks and risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations for soil handling, groundwater, and site control. Material and subcontractor management tasks include procuring steel, concrete, bracing systems, drilling consumables, and dewatering equipment; managing subcontractor performance and productivity; and reviewing and approving invoices and progress reports. The Superintendent serves as the primary contact for clients, engineers, inspectors, and regulatory agencies, providing regular progress reports, schedule updates, cost tracking, and risk assessments, and leading coordination meetings with stakeholders. • Develop and manage excavation schedules, budgets, and work plans. • Coordinate design reviews for secant piles, caissons, walers, struts, and tiebacks. • Oversee daily field operations, including shoring, drilling, and soil removal. • Ensure proper installation of foundation systems and monitor heavy‑equipment usage. • Enforce OSHA safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, and manage environmental compliance. • Procure steel, concrete, bracing, and dewatering equipment; manage subcontractor performance. • Serve as primary liaison with clients, engineers, inspectors, and regulatory agencies. • Provide regular progress reports, cost tracking, and risk assessments.

What You Bring
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred), at least 10 years of experience in construction project management with a focus on excavation, SOE, and foundation work, and proven expertise with secant piles, caissons, soldier piles, lagging, and steel bracing systems. Additional preferred credentials are OSHA 30, PMP certification, Deep Foundation Institute training, and an Engineering‑in‑Training or PE license. Proficiency with Primavera P6 or MS Project and strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills are required. • Require 10+ years of excavation and foundation project management experience. • Prefer a bachelor’s degree, OSHA 30, PMP, DFI training, and an EIT or PE license.

Benefits
The expected salary range for this Superintendent position is $175,000‑$250,000, dependent on experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
