About the Role
As a Group Manager, you will lead both your team and profitability, drawing on extensive field and business experience in geotechnical engineering. You will mentor engineers, technicians, and project managers technically and in client relationship building, set high standards, and drive quality delivery. Your big‑picture mindset and hard‑working approach will position you for significant career growth within the company. • Manage multidisciplinary engineering projects including geotechnical and construction materials projects. • Assemble project teams and provide leadership throughout the full project lifecycle. • Oversee project financials, resource allocation, schedules, and deliverables. • Ensure quality control, safety standards, and engineering best practices are maintained. • Perform technical review of engineering designs, drawings, plans, and specifications. • Pursue new business opportunities through networking, proposals, and client relationships. • Manage branch budgets, forecasts, hiring, and staff development. • Promote company values, positive culture, and high employee engagement. • Oversee Teams C (Loudoun) and E (Winchester) in both the Chantilly and Winchester satellite offices.

What You Bring
• Obtain principal designation or achieve ECS principal status within 12 months. • 8+ years of technical and managerial experience. • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and relationship‑building skills. • Strong business acumen with profit‑and‑loss (P&L) experience. • Excellent project management and organizational abilities. • Knowledge of local/regional engineering climate. • BS in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) with a concentration in geotechnical engineering. • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). • Preferred: MS in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) with a concentration in geotechnical engineering.
